Last night, the penultimate episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert closed with Colbert introducing a musical performance by Bruce Springsteen. Before he began singing a solo-acoustic version of "Streets of Minneapolis," Springsteen said the following:
"Thank you. Stephen... I'm here in support tonight for Stephen because, uh, you're the first guy in America who's lost his show because we got a President who can't take a joke...and because Larry and David Ellison feel they need to kiss his ass to get what they want... Anyway, Stephen, these are small-minded people. They got no idea what the freedoms of this beautiful country are supposed to be about. This is for you..."

A riveting and beautiful late-night television moment indeed, even with the ridiculous bleeping of the "...against Miller and Noem's fucking lies" line. Viva Stephen Colbert!
